56 Finnegan Attorneys Recognized on the 2024 Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll

WASHINGTON, DC—Finnegan is pleased to announce that 56 attorneys have been named to the Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll. Published by the District of Columbia Courts, in collaboration with the D.C. Access to Justice Commission, the D.C. Bar and D.C. Pro Bono Center, the Honor Roll recognizes attorneys who demonstrate their commitment to ensuring equal access to justice by providing 50 hours or more of pro bono service annually. Attorneys who contribute 100 hours or more of pro bono work in a calendar year earn a spot on the High Honor Roll.

The 2024 Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll includes the names of 5,400 D.C. Bar members and other attorneys authorized to provide pro bono legal services in the District of Columbia, making it the longest Honor Roll list since its 2011 debut. Of the 5,400 attorneys recognized, more than 3,000 of them dedicated 100 or more hours of their time to providing pro bono legal services. For perspective, this represents at least 421,650 hours of pro bono legal services, which is equivalent to 48 years and 48 days. More impressively, the attorneys named in the record-setting 2024 Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll represent more than 150 law firms, solo practices, government agencies, corporations, associations, and public interest organizations.  

While Finnegan focuses on intellectual property law, attorneys are not limited in the type of pro bono matters they can accept. From litigating criminal and civil cases to negotiating agreements and settlements and working hand-in-hand with community non-profit organizations to address their constituencies’ legal issues, Finnegan attorneys help give voice to artists, children, older adults, people experiencing homelessness, tenants, veterans, and others in need.
