Chris has experience both in drafting and prosecuting utility patent applications for technologies including cybersecurity, renewable energy, manufacturing, computer networks, mobile applications, and communication systems. Chris has performed freedom to operate studies and developed strategies for responding to post-grant reviews (PGRs). He has been involved in patent litigation matters before U.S. district courts and proceedings at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) of the U.S. Patent Trademark Office (USPTO).
Prior to attending law school, Chris served as a mechanical engineer for CH2M Hill, focused mainly in the oil and gas, energy, and pharmaceutical industries. He has managed engineering project teams for the design of new oil and gas pipelines. Chris is also experienced in computerized hydraulic modeling to identify potential failures in existing pipelines. During his undergraduate studies, Chris developed a bearing test stand with the National Renewable Energy Lab to analyze performance issues for wind turbine bearings.
Chris is also committed to community service. His pro bono practice includes assisting military veterans and prosecuting patent applications pro bono for technologies to help people with disabilities.
