Associate
Ariel worked as a summer associate at Finnegan, where she conducted legal and technical research for pharmaceutical clients in anticipation of litigation proceedings. She also assisted in getting a sentence reduction for a client as part of the firm's robust pro bono practice.
While in law school, Ariel was a member of Howard's Civil Rights Clinic. She did research and writing related to reforming the doctrine of qualified immunity. The clinic successfully represented its clients in a case Ariel was involved with when the U.S. Supreme Court denied certiorari, thereby upholding the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit's favorable decision for the clients. See Campbell v. Cheatham Cnty. Sheriffs Dep't, 47 F.4th 468 (6th Cir. 2022).
Ariel was president of the Huver I. Brown Trial Advocacy Moot Court Team. In 2023, Ariel and a teammate became the champions at the regional National Trial Competition. Furthermore, Ariel and the team made history by being the first students from a historically Black university to advance two teams to both the prestigious National Trial Competition and the American Association of Justice Trial Competition. Their performances catapulted Howard University School of Law's trial team to one of the top ten in the country.
Admitted in Texas only; practicing under the supervision of the partners of the Washington, D.C. office of Finnegan.
