The National Law Journal
At 100 years old, former Finnegan partner George Hutchinson is regarded as an undeniable Supreme Court star, though he never officially sat on its bench. He instead served as a page in 1938, then a “Crier” that officially announced the entrance of the Justices from 1952 to 1962, and finally as an attorney admitted to practice in front of the Court. In total, he spent eighty years with connections to the highest court in the land.
The National Law Journal, wrote an article reflecting on George’s career. Finnegan partner James Barney told the publication that, “George Hutchinson has been a mentor, a teacher, and a friend to generations of Finnegan attorneys. Though incredibly humble, George would, if asked, regale you with stories of the Supreme Court, the early days of the Federal Circuit, or his service during World War II, all of which seemed like they came straight from the pages of a history book. George is a remarkable person, and it was an honor having him at Finnegan for all those years.”
