Partner Jeffrey M. Jacobstein Named Finalist for New England Legal Awards

Jeffrey M. Jacobstein, managing partner of Finnegan’s Boston office, has been named a finalist for IP Attorney of the Year at the 2026 New England Legal Awards. Recognized by The Legal 500 U.S. as a leading patent prosecution lawyer and by Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) for his prosecution practice, Jeffrey has conducted hundreds of evaluations involving acquisitions, partnerships, diligence, clearance, and freedom-to-operate (FTO) matters. He also has significant experience preparing patentability, validity, enforceability, and infringement opinions.

He has drafted and successfully prosecuted numerous patent applications in the United States and abroad, advising clients on all aspects of portfolio management. Jeffrey also develops strategies for and secures patent term extensions (PTEs) and supplemental protection certificates (SPCs) for approved biologic and pharmaceutical products worldwide.

Jeffrey represents clients in inter partes review (IPR) and appeal proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), as well as in reissue and reexamination proceedings at the USPTO. He also advises clients on pre-litigation assessments, patent enforcement, and defenses to patent infringement allegations.
