Finnegan hosted an interactive event for Girl Scouts and young students to teach them about intellectual property, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), and earn IPO Education Foundation’s IP Patch. Participants developed their own invention and learned about patents, trademarks, and copyrights. The program featured distinguished role models from the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Google, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Finnegan partner Esther Lim led one of the workshops and provided words of wisdom to encourage the children as they pursue their interests. She said, "It takes time, practice, and curiosity to learn how to figure things out. [You have to be willing] to try, fail, and try again."
