The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's LEAP (Legal Experience and Advancement Program) program recently celebrated its two-year anniversary. The program is designed to give junior attorneys opportunities to develop their oral argument skills through training and additional argument time. Law360 interviewed Finnegan attorneys Sydney Kestle and Dan Klodowski, who are participants in the program, to share their thoughts on their experience thus far.
Sydney said her participation in the program has been "a fantastic experience," noting that she was grateful for the support she has received from Finnegan and the client to gain experience sooner than she might have otherwise.
Dan said, "The LEAP program does a nice job of helping you to prepare for the arguments and really know what to expect. It is also nice to know that you have backup if you need it, but of course, the goal is to get up and do the argument and have a good experience with it."
