Daniel Klodowski’s practice focuses on district court patent litigation, post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and strategic IP counseling and portfolio development across numerous mechanical and electrical technologies.
Daniel has a wide breadth of experience in intellectual property (IP) law. He has successfully litigated patent infringement disputes in several courts around the country on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. He has also appeared in dozens of PTAB proceedings, crafting and executing winning strategies for petitioners and patent owners.
Daniel advises clients on a variety of IP issues, providing strategic guidance to technology companies both large and small. His counseling work includes IP prosecution, portfolio review, and valuation, with a particular emphasis on leveraging IP to achieve core business objectives.
Daniel’s work spans several fields across the mechanical and electrical arts, including computer networking and business software; artificial intelligence (AI); cable television networks; LCD and LED screen technologies; batteries; satellite systems; automotive propulsion and tire technology; medical devices; robotics; consumer electronics and mechanical devices; hydroelectric power generators; hydrogen fuel cells, and aircraft fire suppression systems.
Daniel’s pro bono practice includes representing disability claimants before administrative law judges of the Social Security Administration and assisting veterans with disability claims and discharge upgrade applications. He is proud of his pro bono work and has been repeatedly recognized on the Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll.
Promptu Systems Corporation v. Comcast Corporation
Obtained a $240 million jury verdict for client Promptu in a patent infringement lawsuit against Comcast. The jury found that Comcast willfully infringed Promptu’s patents covering voice recognition technology for TV.
