Fed. Circ. Upholds AstraZeneca’s Crestor® Patent

On December 14, 2012, the Federal Circuit issued a 2-1 decision affirming the validity of AstraZeneca PLC’s patent covering Crestor®. The ruling prevents generic versions of the billion-dollar cholesterol-reducing drug until the patent expires in 2016. Finnegan represented AstraZeneca in this matter.
