Six Finnegan Partners Recognized in the 2026 Lawdragon 500 Leading Global IP Lawyers

June 22, 2026

The Lawdragon 500: Leading Global IP Lawyers

Lawdragon released its 2026 Lawdragon 500: Leading Global IP Lawyers guide, recognizing six Finnegan partners for their influential work in IP law. The second annual edition honors lawyers who excel in “protecting innovation, defending brand integrity and leveraging the assets at the heart of their clients’ businesses.” The honorees are an interdisciplinary group leading the way on patent drafting and prosecution; post-grant proceedings; strategic IP portfolio development; technology transactions, transfer, licensing, litigation and due diligence, selected through a combination of robust editorial research and nominations. The following Finnegan attorneys were recognized:

Joshua L. Goldberg focuses his practice on PTAB proceedings, including inter-partes review, covered business method, and post-grant review proceedings, as well as related appeals to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He has served as lead or backup counsel in more than 350 PTAB proceedings involving technologies such as graphical user interfaces, telecommunications, cloud computing, mobile applications, electronic banking, industrial manufacturing, automotive systems, and medical devices. Josh also represents clients in U.S. district court litigation and provides strategic counseling on patent infringement, validity, portfolio development, and other intellectual property issues.

J. Michael (Mike) Jakes concentrates his practice on patent litigation and related counseling, with a focus on computer, electronics, semiconductors, software, and medical device technologies. He serves as lead counsel in federal district courts and the ITC, before arbitration panels, and on appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, where he has argued more than 50 appeals. Mike has served as both a special master and technical advisor to various U.S. district courts, assisting with claims construction and summary judgment motions on patents covering myriad subjects. Additionally, Mike was a member of the Federal Circuit’s Advisory and is widely recognized as a leader in IP litigation. Mike has been recognized by Intellectual Asset Management as a Global Leader, a leading patent litigator in the D.C. area, as well as nationally before the Federal Circuit and was named one of the top ten business litigators in D.C. by Legal Times. He has ranked among the top U.S. patent lawyers in Legal Media Group’s Guide to the World’s Leading Patent Law Practitioners for nearly a decade.

Yelena Morozova is an experienced patent attorney with technical expertise in information technology, software, telecommunications, and mechanical engineering. Qualified in both the United States and Europe, she focuses on patent procurement and portfolio development across engineering fields. Yelena has been recognized by Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) for her practice in the U.K., notably England and Wales.

Jin Ooi focuses on high-stakes intellectual property litigation, with particular emphasis on complex, multi-jurisdictional patent disputes in the life sciences, technology, and consumer products sectors. Both Jin’s scientific and legal training shape his litigation strategies, which account for technical, regulatory, and commercial considerations. His work spans patent litigation, damages inquiries, trade secrets disputes, regulatory and competition matters, and related commercial disputes. Jin has represented clients in disputes involving pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, biologics and biosimilars, DNA sequencing, vaccines, transgenic platforms, cochlear implants, and reduced-risk consumer products. His matters include significant UK patent cases before the UK Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, coordinated generic challenges, interim injunctions, complex damages inquiries, and leading FRAND matters involving standard essential patents.
