Press Release

Finnegan Achieves Mansfield Rule 3.0 Certification Plus Status

September 15, 2020

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 15, 2020

WASHINGTON, DC—Finnegan is pleased to announce that the firm has achieved Diversity Lab’s Mansfield Rule 3.0 Certification Plus status. The Mansfield Rule certification measures whether law firms have affirmatively considered women, attorneys of color, LGBTQ+ attorneys, and attorneys with disabilities as at least 30 percent of the candidate pool for recruitment, governance roles, equity partner promotions, and inclusion in formal pitches to clients. The goal of the Mansfield Rule is to boost the representation of diverse lawyers in law firm leadership by broadening the pool of candidates considered for these roles and opportunities.

Finnegan signed on to the Mansfield Rule in 2018 and has achieved “Plus” status each year. “Plus” status indicates that, in addition to meeting or exceeding the baseline certification requirements, the firm has successfully reached at least 30 percent diverse lawyer representation in a notable number of their current leadership roles.

In addition to achieving Mansfield Rule 3.0 Certification Plus status, the firm received several recent accolades that confirm Finnegan’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The 2021 Vault Guide ranked Finnegan a top firm for diversity; Working Mother ranked Finnegan on its “Best Law Firms for Women” list and inducted the firm to its Hall of Fame; Law360 named Finnegan a top 10 firm for diversity in its 2020 Diversity Snapshot; and the firm earned a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index, earning a “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality” designation.
