Shawn Chang Selected for NAPABA’s 2023 Prospective Partners Program

Finnegan is pleased to announce that attorney Shawn Chang was selected to participate in the 2023 National Asian Pacific American Bar Association’s (NAPABA) Prospective Partners Program. He is among a select group of senior associates and counsel who have been recognized for their leadership potential within their organizations. The program strives to increase the number of Asian American Pacific Islander partners at major law firms. During the 2023 NAPABA Convention in Indianapolis November 9-12, 2023, Shawn will be mentored by current industry partners and have an opportunity to foster genuine relationships with senior in-house counsel.

Shawn’s practice includes litigating in U.S. district courts, challenging and defending patents in post-grant proceedings at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and representing clients in appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He also advises clients on their U.S. and international patent portfolios, provides opinions of counsel, and performs patent portfolio analysis and evaluation to assist in clients’ IP business strategies. Shawn’s diverse technological experience encompasses all aspects of electrical and computer technologies, including communications systems, wireless technologies, data and signal processing, optical systems, network authentication protocols, semiconductor devices, unmanned aerial systems, and mobile devices. He also has pro bono experience representing veterans with claims before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
