The Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) ruled in favor of Finnegan’s client SharkNinja, invalidating an iRobot Corp. patent. The patent in question was part of iRobot’s Roomba product line and covered the roller cleaning system. The board rejected iRobot’s proposed claim construction. As iRobot’s efforts to block SharkNinja from selling the allegedly infringing product while it challenged several patents were unsuccessful, the board’s latest decision concluded the defeated efforts and marked SharkNinja’s fourth PTAB win.
