WASHINGTON, DC—For the 13thconsecutive year, Finnegan secured its place on Seramount’s 100 Best Companies list, earning the #1 spot for flexible work. The firm moved up four spots from its 2023 overall ranking and was also ranked for best practices in the workplace; benefits and work-life programs, including childcare, healthcare, and fertility benefits; and paid time off, phase-back, and parental leave policies. The 100 Best Companies list honors companies setting the standard by providing inclusive benefits for families, including paid gender-neutral parental leave, subsidized childcare, bereavement leave after miscarriage, reimbursement for fertility expenses, coverage for menopause care, and increased access to mental health resources. The best companies recognition follows the firm’s recent honor of being named to Seramount’s Best Law Firms for Women and Diversity list, which recognizes law firms’ excellence in recruiting, promoting, retaining and developing women attorneys and attorneys from underrepresented groups, including LGBTQ+ lawyers and lawyers of color.
“We are grateful to be recognized for our programs that support our working parents,” said Erika Arner, Finnegan’s managing partner. “We take pride in fostering a diverse and inclusive environment and in implementing best-in-class policies and initiatives that support our attorneys and staff to ensure a healthy work-life balance.”
In addition to Finnegan's firmwide recognitions, attorneys Meredith Boerschlein and Kai Rajan were recognized as "Working Parents of the Year."
Seramount’s 2024 100 Best Companies application includes more than 200 questions related to leave policies, benefits, childcare, advancement programs, flexibility, and more. It surveys the availability and usage of these programs, as well as the accountability of the many managers who oversee them. Applicants that do not make the list are kept confidential. Company profiles and data come from submitted applications and reflect 2023 data.
