Finnegan expanded its London team with the addition of Jin Ooi as a partner. Jin joined the firm on June 8, bringing over 15 years of patent litigation experience with an emphasis in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical devices industries.
Jin has been involved in significant patent litigation matters, including disputes relating to pharmaceutical products such as pregabalin and enzalutamide, as well as cases involving interim injunctions for treatments like empagliflozin.
In addition to life sciences litigation, Jin has experience in standard-essential patent disputes and FRAND-related matters. He has acted for clients in the electronics space, and has worked on disputes in the consumer goods sector, including litigation between major tobacco companies.
His practice also includes trade secrets arbitration and commercial and regulatory disputes, along with transactional support for mergers and acquisitions in regulated industries.
According to Darren Jiron, managing partner of Finnegan’s London office, Jin’s arrival reflects the growing client demand for coordinated litigation strategies across the UK, U.S., and Europe. At Finnegan, Jin will support the firm’s ability to handle global disputes, particularly in life sciences and FRAND matters, as part of its continued expansion in Europe.
