BMW Gets PTAB to Knock Out Processor Patent

The Patent Trial and Appeal Board found that Finnegan client BMW showed that all the claims it challenged in a patent for processor technology were invalid as obvious. A three-judge panel agreed that BMW in their fight to dispose of 18 claims in U.S. Patent No. 7,502,958 owned by Foras Technologies Ltd. Finnegan partner Lionel Lavenue told Law360 that, “BMW is very pleased that the board agreed with its arguments that all the challenged claims of the Foras Technologies patent ... are unpatentable.”
