On Friday, i4i LP filed a brief that claims Microsoft is discouraging innovation and unfairly upsetting decades of patent law with a proposal that outlines a revised standard for invalidity. The proposal stems from Microsoft’s appeal of a $290 million verdict against the technology giant for allegedly infringing an i4i patent.
