Managing Intellectual Property analyzed data from Docket Navigator which revealed the petitioners, patent owners, law firms, and attorneys that had the highest number of Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) filings in the first quarter. The data lists 440 PTAB petitions filed in the first quarter of 2015. With 26 filings, Finnegan had the highest number of filings for petitioner law firms. The firm appeared in seven proceedings on behalf of respondents. Additionally, Finnegan attorneys Thomas W. Winland, P. Andrew Riley, James R. Barney, David C. Reese, and Jeffrey A. Berkowitz were each listed as petitioner attorneys in four or more Q1 filings, with 14, 12, five, four, and four respectively. For respondent attorneys listed in four or more Q1 filings, Finnegan attorney Jonathan R.K. Stroud had six and Justin J. Hasford, M. Andrew Holtman, Jason E. Stach, and Bryan C. Diner were each listed in four proceedings.
