WASHINGTON, DC—On April 6, 2016, Finnegan announced the addition of Clare A. Cornell who joined the firm’s London office as a partner to help establish the firm's European trade mark practice. Clare's practice focuses on trade mark prosecution, maintenance, enforcement and opposition; clearance searching; portfolio management; IP due diligence; and IP licensing and assignment.
"We are thrilled to have Clare join Finnegan in our London office," said London office managing partner Anthony C. Tridico. "Clare's experience as a trade mark and patent attorney is the ideal addition to our rapidly expanding European practice and we are excited to offer European trade mark law expertise to our clients."
Skilled in coordinating national and international trade mark filing strategies, Ms. Cornell has served an international client base in the construction, chemical, clothing, alcoholic beverage, packaging, and nutraceutical industries. She is experienced working through the European Union Intellectual Property Office and the World Intellectual Property Association's (WIPO) Madrid International Trademark System.
Ms. Cornell's practice also allows her to provide a broad range of advice in high-level IP due diligence programs, advise on all aspects of IP, and prepare agreements for the transfer of IP portfolios. She has assisted in multi-million dollar IP due diligence projects, both at the acquisition and divestiture stages. She has also coordinated many multi-jurisdictional post acquisition IP assignment programs and has provided IP auditing services to clients who have acquired large IP portfolios.
