Standard-driven patent pooling in the industrial technology sector

A large Asian company with technology in computer control systems and software created a new industry standard. We provided counsel and assistance in forming a patent pool around that standard and developed the arrangements necessary to manage the IP of member companies. We assessed our client’s technology, discussed how essential patents should be acquired and managed, and assisted in developing agreements to pool and license the standard technology to consortium members and others.
