Groove Digital, Inc.
United Bank
Groove Digital filed suit against United Bank alleging the Bank’s mobile banking apps (iOS and Android) infringed U.S. Patent No. 9,454,762. Specifically, Groove Digital alleged its patent covered the smartphone’s use of “push notifications,” “banners,” “heads-up notifications,” and “peeking.” Following Judge O’Grady’s order on claim construction, Groove Digital stipulated to an adverse judgment of non-infringement.
