The World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) 2022 World IP Day centered around the theme of “IP and Youth: Innovating for a Better Future”. Westlaw Today interviewed Finnegan partner Kara Specht to discuss the importance of educating youth about the field of intellectual property (IP).
Kara highlighted the importance of teaching IP law to young women in STEM:
"Encouraging young women to be involved in STEM career paths from an early age would help facilitate lasting change from lowering the wage gap, increasing innovation through diversity of thought, and building inclusive workspaces...World IP Day is an opportunity to further these initiatives by highlighting available opportunities and creating excitement for these fields."
