The ‘Wonderful Gift’ of Friendship

In 1983, Finnegan partner Esther Lim, immigrated with her family to the United States from South Korea. Along with her family, she did not know a single word of English until fate took her to Jean Herbert’s seventh grade class in Joppa, Maryland. Determined to help a young Esther, Jean not only taught her the language, but she also taught her entire family. Esther and Jean are both alumnae of Towson University and the alumni newsletter, TU Magazine, featured their story in their November 2023 edition.
