Savoy Magazine Names Mareesa Frederick on its 2024 Most Influential Lawyers List

August 2, 2024

Savoy

Savoy Magazine has named Mareesa Frederick to its 2024 "Most Influential Lawyers" list, recognizing her as one of the top Black lawyers in the country. This list honors lawyers who stand out for their exceptional skills and dedication, inspiring leaders in both corporate and legal fields.

Based in Finnegan’s Washington, DC office, Mareesa focuses on complex, high-stakes intellectual property litigation, with a particular emphasis on Section 337 proceedings before the International Trade Commission (ITC). She was named by The Legal 500 U.S. as a Next Generation Lawyer for ITC patent litigation. Mareesa serves as co-chair of Finnegan’s African American Affinity Group. Previously, she served on the firm’s Management Committee and as partner-in-charge of Diversity.

Mareesa devotes a significant amount of time to pro bono matters where she has represented clients through the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless and has participated in Finnegan’s criminal pro bono program. She now focuses her pro bono efforts on advocating for children with special education needs and has also led the effort at Finnegan to establish a formal special education program.
