WASHINGTON, DC—Finnegan is pleased to welcome Maeve O’Flynn as a partner in the London office. Qualified as a European and Chartered British patent attorney, Maeve focuses on patent prosecution; oppositions and appeals before the European Patent Office; portfolio management and strategy; and freedom to operate assessments.
“Maeve brings more than a decade of invaluable in-house experience, having worked at some of the world's largest multinational corporations in the oil and chemical industries,” noted London office managing partner, Anthony Tridico, Ph.D. “She has deep technical experience and a stellar track record in devising global patenting strategies. We are thrilled to have her join the firm as we continue to grow the office and our European patent practice.”
With a degree in chemistry from the University of Oxford, Maeve has technical knowledge and experience in the areas of catalysis, electrochemistry, and oil and gas technology. She worked as intellectual property counsel at Shell Oil and Johnson Matthey for more than 15 years, gaining considerable experience in developing strategic patent portfolios and negotiating IP transactions. More recently, Maeve has worked for a range of clients, from startups to multinationals, covering diverse technologies such as cosmetics, sustainable chemistry, and cement technology.
