Litigator of the Week Runners-Up and Shout Outs: Plumrose Holding Ltd.

Finnegan attorneys Chip Rettew and Lisa London received a shout out in The AmLaw Litigation Daily “Litigator of the Week,” which recognized a win at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) for Finnegan client Plumrose Holding Ltd. In a precedential opinion, the Board granted Plumrose’s opposition to Florida-based USA Ham’s plan to register the “La Montserratina” mark, a name associated with Plumrose for over 75 years. USA Ham’s mark had similar characteristics to the mark Plumrose has used since 2011. The Board affirmed Plumrose’s position and said they did not need to detail their plans for expansion into the United States to show the impact to its reputation.
