Four Finnegan Partners Named to the IAM Strategy 300 List

September 14, 2020

Intellectual Asset Management (IAM)

Finnegan partners Gary Ma, Charles Suh, Anthony Tridico, and Ningling Wang are named on the IAM Strategy 300: The World’s Leading IP Strategists list. The list identifies individuals who are leading the way in the development and implementation of strategies that maximize the value of IP portfolios. Individuals are selected based on multiple nominations that highlight attorneys with proven track records protecting, advocating, and leveraging the value of IP for clients.

Gary Ma serves as managing partner of Finnegan’s Taipei office. He represents clients in patent and trade secret litigations before U.S. district courts and the International Trade Commission (ITC). Gary’s experience includes arguing motions and taking multiple cases to trial. He represents and counsels clients at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on inter partes review (IPR), reexamination, and interference proceedings. He also counsels clients on non-adversarial matters, including conducting freedom to operate and patentability opinions, and helps clients to develop useful and valuable patent portfolios.

Charles Suh serves as managing partner of Finnegan’s Seoul office. He practices both utility and design patent litigation. Charles has served as lead counsel and participates in every aspect of district court and ITC litigation, and in IPR proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) of the USPTO. Charles also has significant experience in patent portfolio management, preparing patentability, validity, and infringement opinions, and preparing and prosecuting patent applications directed to various technologies, including semiconductor fabrication/packaging, electronics, computer hardware/software, and military tactical systems.

Anthony Tridico, Ph.D., is managing partner of Finnegan’s London office. His knowledge of the various legal systems in Europe and how they differ from the United States allows Anthony to effectively counsel clients across life sciences industries with global interests in intellectual property. His practice includes post-grant proceedings, appeals and oral hearings at the PTAB, as well as European Patent Office (EPO) opposition and appeal procedures. Anthony, serving as lead counsel, has argued and won on behalf of both patent owners and petitioners in inter partes and ex partes proceedings before the PTAB. Additionally, Anthony focuses on international patent prosecution and portfolio management, as well as strategic counseling, including pre-litigation strategy, due diligence investigations, freedom to operate analysis and the specialized areas of patent term extensions and Orange Book listings.

Ningling Wang is managing partner of Finnegan’s Shanghai office. She has extensive experience working with multinational and Chinese companies; providing legal advice on IP portfolio management, due diligence, licensing, litigation, and trade secret protection; and enforcement in the chemical, pharmaceutical, medical device, semiconductor material, additive manufacturing, and nanotechnology industries. Ningling has been involved in various cases before the ITC and U.S. district courts. She has also represented foreign companies with IP enforcement in China, including judicial and customs enforcement actions.
