Finnegan elected partner James Barney, a patent litigator with over two decades at the firm, to serve as its next managing partner. James succeeds Erika Harmon Arner on July 1. He will oversee the firm’s 11 locations and will focus on maintaining its momentum in the intellectual property space.
James said, “Finnegan's global strength is unmatched — particularly across the U.S., Europe, and Asia — and we're continuing to invest in the regions and industries where our clients need us most. Our expansion in Munich and early commitment to the [Unified Patent Court] has positioned us at the forefront of global patent litigation for our clients, and we're already seeing that investment deliver results.”
