Press Release

Finnegan Partners Recognized for Commitment to Client Service

February 8, 2018

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 8, 2018

WASHINGTON, DC—Finnegan clients recently recognized firm attorneys for their excellent client service through Lexology’s 2018 Client Choice Awards and Acritas Stars™. The Client Choice Awards recognize partners who go above and beyond to add real value to their clients’ business, and are based on nominations from senior corporate counsel. Acritas Stars™ are named based on feedback from general counsel and other senior leaders at legal departments around the world.

Two Finnegan partners were selected as 2018 Client Choice Award winners. According to one client, Virginia Carron, whose practice focuses on patent and trademark litigation, counseling, and prosecution across a broad range of industries, is, “…a truly outstanding outside counsel; she understands business as well as an in-house lawyer and can explain complicated matters in a very simple and easy way.” Partner Raj Gupta focuses on patent litigation, patent prosecution, and client counseling in the telecommunications, semiconductor, and electrical and computer technology industries. A client who works with Raj said, “Raj is always willing to make himself available; he looks for creative solutions to tough legal problems.”

Four partners have been named Acritas Stars™. A client who works with Mark Feldstein, whose practice focuses on Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) litigation and post-grant trial proceedings at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), said, “He’s brilliant. He’s a patent litigator, he has excellent technical skills, and he’s an excellent attorney….” Brian Kacedon’s practice focuses on patent licensing and litigation. A client he works with said, “We used him as an intellectual property licensing expert, and it was his understanding of those laws in concert with what the business needs are, to get a resolution.” Douglas (Chip) Rettew, who leads the firm’s trademark practice, was praised for being “particularly creative and good at trying to work out all possible angles to address problems.” Finnegan managing partner Mark Sweet was also named an Acritas Star™, recognized for “his advice in strategic planning and analysis of complex situations.”
