Press Release

Finnegan Named a Top Company by Working Mother

September 25, 2018

Working Mother

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 25, 2018

WASHINGTON, DC—For the seventh consecutive year, Finnegan earned a spot on Working Mother’s annual list of the 2018 “100 Best Companies.” Finnegan was one of only four law firms to make the list in 2018.

“We are honored that Working Mother continues to recognize the firm in the areas of female career advancement, paid parental leave, childcare assistance, educational and health benefits, and flextime,” said Finnegan managing partner Mark Sweet. “These benefits are integral to fulfilling the firm’s commitment to meeting our employees’ professional, financial, and personal needs and interests.”

Based on the comparison of data submitted by companies from the 100 Best Companies list and data from U.S. companies collected by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) for its 2018 Employee Benefits Report, there is a wide gap between the policies offered: 100 percent of the 100 Best Companies offer paid maternity leave versus 35 percent of companies nationwide; 99 percent of the 100 Best Companies offer paid paternity leave versus 29 percent of companies nationwide.

Finnegan was also recently recognized on Working Mother’s “Best Law Firms for Women” list, where the firm ranked #1 for Diversity and Accountability and ranked in the top 10 overall in the category of Support for Women’s Advancement.
