To kick off Women’s History Month, Finnegan announced the rebranding of its women’s business initiative. The initiative, now called Finnegan FORWARD (Focused on Raising Women's Advancement, Representation, and Development), focuses on several key initiatives to address issues impacting female attorneys in intellectual property and advertising and marketing law. These initiatives include business development opportunities and how to overcome the challenges of developing a book of business, marketing and recruiting efforts to acknowledge the difficulties retaining high-performing women, and education and training for continued support of our women attorneys and their leadership opportunities in intellectual property and advertising law, firm governance, and STEM-related fields.
Finnegan FORWARD demonstrates the best of the firm’s collaborative culture. Many attorneys have volunteered to lead a variety of sub-initiatives and are working together to find solutions for systemic barriers. The firm has hosted a Women’s Summit; business development training; a women’s leadership forum including a roundtable discussion with Intellectual Asset Management and follow-up article; networking breakfasts, dinners, and receptions for women in IP; community outreach programs for elementary school children and victims of sexual violence; in addition to sponsoring women’s conferences globally.
