On November 9, 2021, Finnegan announced that it will be opening an office in Munich, Germany, in January 2022. The Munich office will open with a team of seven lawyers and legal professionals, led by partner Jochen Herr. The lawyers provide a unique offering as dual-qualified lawyers and patent attorneys. The office will focus on infringement proceedings at the trial and appellate levels before German courts, as well as proceedings and cancellation actions before the German Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office.
