Finnegan Chorus Spreads Holiday Cheer at Salvation Army’s National Capital Area 2012 Christmas Concert

WASHINGTON, DC - On Sunday, December 2, 2012, Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP’s holiday Chorus participated in the Salvation Army’s National Capital Area 2012 Christmas Concert. Finnegan is a long-time sponsor of the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program, which for the past 31 years has worked to provide Christmas gifts to children in struggling families in the Washington DC area. Each year, Finnegan employees purchase and package gifts for between 200 to 400 children and present them to the Salvation Army at the firm’s Washington, DC headquarters during a ceremony that includes holiday musical performance by the Finnegan Chorus.

This year, the Salvation Army invited the Finnegan Chorus to perform at the charitable organization’s Christmas Concert at the Willard InterContinental Hotel. Finnegan founding partner Douglas B. Henderson said, “not only do we consider ourselves fortunate to be able to consistently help needy families celebrate Christmas, but we are honored to have the Salvation Army invite our Chorus to sing at its holiday concert.”

For more than a decade, Finnegan partner Allen M. Sokal has directed the Finnegan Chorus, which includes lawyers, secretaries, directors, managers, and staff from the firm’s DC office, who, as Sokal explains, “simply love to sing during the holiday season and look forward to supporting the Angel Tree Program.”

In 2011, more than 24,945 individuals in the National Capital Area received emergency holiday assistance through the Angel Tree Program. In the District of Columbia, 6,295 children from 2,774 families were served.
