Ericsson Gets $2.4M Tab After $110M Win Axed at Fed. Circ.

After the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit overturned a $110 million judgment in favor of Finnegan client TCL in Ericsson Inc. v. TCL Communication Technology, an Eastern District of Texas judge ordered Ericsson to pay TCL $2.4M for bond premiums, ruling that Ericsson was liable for a portion of the costs TCL incurred as a result of the dispute. The judge found that TCL showed Ericsson should have to cover the cost of the premiums because TCL had offered less expensive alternatives, but Ericsson rejected those options.
