BTI Recognizes Finnegan as Distinguished in IP Litigation and an “Intimidating Opponent”

October 18, 2023

BTI Consulting Group

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 18, 2023

WASHINGTON, DC—BTI Consulting Group released its 2024 Litigation Outlook report, which recognized Finnegan as Distinguished in IP Litigation as well as an “Intimidating Opponent” on its Most Feared Law Firms in Litigation list. The BTI Litigation Outlook 2024 is based solely on in-depth telephone interviews with leading legal decision makers. Earlier this year, BTI included Finnegan in its Client Service A-Team list.

According to the report, IP litigation continues to grow due to several factors:

  • Copyright infringement by AI apps, software, and tools
  • Trade secrets
  • More aggressive defense of IP due to strategic values
  • More aggressive initiation of claims due to strategic value
  • Life sciences companies and pharma companies getting increasingly comfortable bringing IP actions
  • Increased claims against company supply chains
  • Increased threats from trade secret claims to protect intellectual property in place of a direct IP claim
  • AI is providing fertile ground for new claims

Finnegan has more than 200 attorneys well experienced in all forms of US IP litigation, German patent litigation, and European patent litigation in courts, including the recently opened Unified Patent Court (UPC), before governmental agencies, and in arbitration forums. Our litigation practice covers all aspects of IP disputes, from complex patent litigation and appeals to high-profile trademark disputes. We have more than a dozen former district court or trial judge law clerks and over 40 former appellate law clerks.
