The U.S. ITC has declined to reconsider its finding of partial invalidity in appliance maker Whirlpool Corp.'s infringement suit against rival LG Electronics USA Inc., upholding a victory for LG in a long-running Section 337 case over ice-storage and refrigerator patents. The ITC said Whirlpool's petition for reconsideration did not raise any new questions or present arguments that couldn't have been addressed earlier. Whirlpool initially accused LG of infringing five patents but dropped claims over four of the five patents-in-suit. LG is represented by Finnegan in this matter.
