On Monday, January 28, U.S. District Judge Rudolph Contreras ruled in favor of LG Display Co. (“LG”) when he recognized “a ruling by a Korean court that LG rival Obayashi Seikou Co. must transfer LCD patents to LG.” The decision detailed that defendants received a “full and fair trial abroad,” and the ruling supports LG Display’s aim to obtain clear title to the patents and pursue additional remedies, including damages. Finnegan represented LG Display in this matter.
