LG Wins Round in Battle Over LCD Technology

On Monday, January 28, U.S. District Judge Rudolph Contreras ruled in favor of LG Display Co. (“LG”) when he recognized “a ruling by a Korean court that LG rival Obayashi Seikou Co. must transfer LCD patents to LG.” The decision detailed that defendants received a “full and fair trial abroad,” and the ruling supports LG Display’s aim to obtain clear title to the patents and pursue additional remedies, including damages.
