April 11, 2016

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 11, 2016

WASHINGTON, DC—Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP partner Donald R. Dunner has been named the recipient of the 2016 American Inns of Court Professionalism Award for the Federal Circuit. The prestigious award recognizes a lawyer or judge whose life and practice display genuine character, unquestioned integrity, and dedication to the highest standards of the legal profession and the rule of law.

Mr. Dunner has had a distinguished career in intellectual property law. He played a major part in the establishment of the Federal Circuit, and has argued more Federal Circuit cases than any other litigator in the United States. He has led numerous cases in federal district courts and is best known for his appellate practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and its predecessor court, the U.S. Court of Customs and Patent Appeals. He has also argued before the Supreme Court of the United States.

"Don’s passion and contribution to the profession are remarkable," said Finnegan managing partner James B. Monroe. "Don is a true luminary within the field of intellectual property law, and it is rewarding to see all of his efforts recognized."

Mr. Dunner will also be recognized at the American Inns of Court Celebration of Excellence Dinner held at the Supreme Court in November.
