Finnegan Named "Most Experienced Firm in Representing Petitioners" in New Lex Machina PTAB Report

January 22, 2016

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 22, 2016

WASHINGTON, DC—On January 21, 2016, data analytics firm Lex Machina released its Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) 2015 Report, citing Finnegan as the most experienced firm in representing petitioners. The report highlights key findings derived from data covering the entire lifecycle of PTAB trials, from the filing of the petition through institution to the ultimate disposition.

Finnegan had 40 terminated PTAB trials filed in 2015. In addition to representing petitioners, the firm also defended patent owners in 16 terminated trials, a unique differentiator in comparison to other top petitioner firms, which, according to the data, tend not to defend patent owners. “We are pleased that Lex Machina recognizes Finnegan’s distinctive position within PTAB practice. With clients on both sides of the table, Finnegan’s experience in leading PTAB trials allows us to be an objective resource and differentiates our services from other firms filing PTAB cases,” said Finnegan partner Erika H. Arner.
