A U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) administrative law judge recently ruled that Monolithic Power Systems Inc., Asus Computer International Inc. and Microsemi Corp. have not infringed an O2 Micro International Ltd. patent covering backlighting technology for liquid crystal displays. Judge James Gildea issued the initial determination on the alleged Section 337 violation, finding that the defendants had not imported inverter circuits that infringed one of four U.S. patents asserted by O2. AsusTek, Asus and MPS are represented by Finnegan in this matter.
