In Clouding Corp. v. Unified Patents, Inc., the Federal Circuit affirmed a Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) decision denying an attempted amendment to a cloud storage patent under America Invents Act review. Finnegan attorneys James R. Barney and Daniel C. Cooley represented the appellee, Unified Patents, in an appeal from an IPR. In the case, Clouding Corp. tried to amend the claims of its patent to escape anticipation and obviousness arguments brought by Unified Patents.
