With the opening of an intellectual property specialized court in China, this seminar addresses the most ideal state of the court in playing a significant role for patent protection in China, making a comparative review of the issues in other jurisdictions. The speakers include Judge Jumpol Pinyosinwat, Justice of the Court of Appeals and former presiding judge of the Central Intell, Thailand; Professor Liu Chuntian, an influential scholar in the world of Chinese academia and Chinese IP practices; Mr. Toshiaki Iimura, Chief Judge of the Intellectual Property High Court; and other remarkable IP professionals from China, Thailand, and Japan. Finnegan partner Naoki Yoshida will join the discussion as a commentator. Hosted by Waseda University's Research Center for the Legal System of Intellectual Property, the "Effective Settlement for International Intellectual Property Disputes and the Role of Intellectual Property Specialized Courts" program will be held at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan.
