The 2011 Patent Litigation Survey

November 29, 2011

Corporate Counsel

Finnegan ranked second in this year’s 2011 patent litigation survey conducted by Corporate Counsel. Finnegan saw its federal district court patent caseload increase an estimated 47 percent in a year where infringement filings were approaching 2008 levels after dropping during the height of the recession. Two things helping drive this increase are an increase in NPE lawsuits and escalation in the smartphone “battle for supremacy.”
