Federal Judge Sanctions Howrey Client Over “Vexatious Litigation Strategy”

March 4, 2011

The AmLaw Litigation Daily

A judge ordered O2Micro International to pay $339,315 in costs and potentially millions in attorneys’ fees after she found that they had engaged in litigation misconduct. The order was a result of patent suits that O2Micro had filed against Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) and stated that O2Micro had engaged in a “vexatious litigation strategy” against MPS and tried to hide a witness’s false testimony about a date of an invention. MPS and ASUSTek are represented by Finnegan.
