Shannon's litigation experience with district court matters includes preparing motions, managing discovery efforts, and working with expert witnesses. She has participated in patent prosecution matters involving counseling clients on patent portfolio management, preparing patent applications, and responding to office actions issued by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Additionally, Shannon has assisted in preparing petitions for inter partes (IPR) review before the PTAB.
While in law school, Shannon worked as a legal extern for an industrial aluminum company. Her work there focused on conducting legal research to address complex litigation issues as well as counseling clients on managing their patent portfolios. As a summer associate with Finnegan, Shannon assisted with both litigation and prosecution matters, including drafting patent claims.
Shannon is dedicated to her pro bono practice. While at Finnegan, she has reviewed complex medical and psychiatric patient records to assist in securing discharge upgrades for injured veterans.
