Associate
Jillian Baggett concentrates on patent litigation and prosecution, leveraging a strong technical background in biomedical engineering and computer science. Her experience spans an array of technologies, including medical device imaging, software, telecommunications systems, cybersecurity, and data privacy.
While in law school, Jillian won the 2025 Giles Sutherland Rich Memorial Intellectual Property Competition, arguing before a panel of three U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit judges in the final round. She was also a member of Duke’s Health Justice Clinic, where she collaborated with clinicians on behalf of clients and drafted briefs for disability advocacy and compassionate release matters. Additionally, Jillian worked as a research assistant to Professor Arti Rai, a leading scholar in patent law and policy.
Before attending law school, Jillian gained industry experience as a software engineer at a medical device imaging company. She also served as a software engineering intern for a major gas and energy corporation, where she developed and maintained internal applications using Amazon Web Services (AWS) assets and other cloud-based technologies.

Promptu Systems Corporation v. Comcast Corporation
Obtained a $240 million jury verdict for client Promptu in a patent infringement lawsuit against Comcast. The jury found that Comcast willfully infringed Promptu’s patents covering voice recognition technology for TV.
