Associate
Dara Emami focuses on patent litigation and prosecution. Drawing on his mechanical and electrical engineering background, Dara delivers tailored legal strategies in an array of industries, including manufacturing, robotics, autonomous vehicles, and emerging technologies.
While attending law school, Dara completed an externship with Judge Arenda Wright Allen in the Eastern District of Virginia, where he gained firsthand exposure to judicial decision-making. He also served as an extern with in-house counsel for a defense contractor, working on government contract issues.
Before entering law school, Dara gained experience as a mechanical engineer and project manager in the shipbuilding industry. He led cutting edge projects in areas such as additive manufacturing, unmanned vehicles, and advanced submarine concepts.
Dara completed several internships as an undergraduate. His internship at NASA Langley Research Center involved developing software to assist researchers in calibrating satellite systems for atmospheric data collections. While interning for a chainsaw manufacturer, Dara worked in a durability testing lab, where he upgraded data acquisition systems and conducted failure analysis on products.
