On November 27, 2017 the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in Oil States Energy Services, LLC v. Greene’s Energy Group, LLC. The case could either steady or upend a legal practice before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. At issue: the constitutionality of inter partes review proceedings – also known as IPRs.
