Many of the most important provisions of the America Invents Act (AIA) will take effect on September 16, 2012. To implement these provisions, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has issued new rule packages that significantly alter many aspects of U.S. patent practice.

Please join Finnegan AIA team members for a webinar that will provide practical tips for complying with the new rules and strategies to capitalize on new opportunities under the AIA. Topics will include:

• Pros and cons of the new post-grant challenge proceedings, including post-grant review and transitional post-grant review for covered business method patents

• The future of interferences, reexamination, and inter partes review

• New provisions of note for patent owners including assignee filing and supplemental examination

• Strategic use of the new provision for third party submissions of prior art
