An Insiders’ Guide to the USPTO: Understanding How the PTO Works So You Can Make Efficient and Effective Use of the System

October 26, 2010

Webinar

As patent practitioners, most of us engage the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). A sprawling operation, the USPTO employs more than 9,700 people, more than 6,200 of whom are patent examiners. Few practitioners in the U.S. or abroad understand the structure and organization of this unique agency, and exactly what takes place “behind the curtain” of the world’s largest IPR-granting organization.

Finnegan partners Eric Raciti and Anthony Tridico will describe the organization of the USPTO, and the operations and responsibilities of the various departmental Offices and Divisions. Attendees will gain an understanding and appreciation for the inner workings of the USPTO, which will increase the ability of European practitioners to skillfully navigate a U.S. Patent Application to issuance.

This webinar is the second of four in our 2010 “Strategic U.S. Patent and Trademark Series for European Counsel.”
